As thunder rumbles overhead SMHA finishes a planning session with the leaders of the West End Community Neighborhood Association (WECNA).
Though there are 100 homes inundated, the decision has been made to help recover those families who own their homes.
Absentee landlords will be called upon to repair their properties so those families can move back in ASAP.
The leaders are starting with 12 homes using money raised to pay for cleaning supplies, materials to rebuild and re-entry after volunteers have removed mold and debris.
As the financial resources continue to be available from donors across the country, the WECNA team will start work on another dozen homes.
It is our intent to get all family-owned homes clean, safe and fully restored.
We will have another post early next week.
