SMHA met with Delta Sorority to create a program to help organize groups to encourage voting capacity in the West End of New Iberia. The meeting was held on July 8. In attendance were:
- Delta Sorority – Dr. Virginia Lewis, Tiffany Broussard, Cheryl Broussard
- New Iberia City Council Member – Deedy Reid Johnson
- West End Council of Neighborhood Associations – Warren White (President), Robby Bethel (Secretary)
- Southern Mutual Help Association – Lorna Bourg (President), Clem Matthews (Chief Administrator for Southern Mutual Financial Services – SMFS), Monica Broussard (Long Time Voting Commissioner), Andrea Ordodi ( Sr. Assistant to the President)
