Mr. Moore is a former bus driver for the Iberia Parish School System with 20 years of service. After retirement, he decided to pursue his passion for cooking by opening a small café which he opened in 2004 with a small capitalization loan from Southern Mutual Financial Services, Inc.
The Café serves plate lunches and is open for service week days from 11:30 A. M. to 2:30 and on weekends from 11:30 A. M. to 3:00 P. M. Mr. Moore is looking forward to expanding his business to include short orders.
When asked what motivates him. Mr. Moore said, “Cooking is my passion.” He loves to cook and after closing the café for the day, he prepares the family meals while listening to good music.
Moore’s Café has been located at its current location for sixteen years. Mr. Moore said he loves the area and he has a diverse clientele and he feels his greatest strength is preparing delicious meals with fresh produce and providing good customer service.
Mr. Moore would like to purchase a Food Truck within the next five years and maintain his Café. He is also interested in increasing the operating hours of the Café and start serving short orders in addition to the plate lunches.
Mr. Moore said his recent loan with Southern Mutual Financial Services provided an opportunity to improve his parking area, provided additional working capital, and the new sign brings recognition to Café.
Mr. Moore said, “It has been good having a business relationship with Southern Mutual Financial Services over the years.”
