SOUTHERN MUTUAL HELP ASSOCIATION, INC. RECEIVES A $100,000.00 GRANT FROM IBERIABANK, A DIVISION OF FIRST HORIZON, THROUGH THE RECENTLY ESTABLISHED LOUISIANA FIRST HORIZON FOUNDATION

Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc. (SMHA) has a long history of partnering with IBERIABANK to provide affordable capital to underserved residents in Louisiana.

Partnering with IBERIABANK has provided the opportunity for SMHA to continue our mission of building rural communities.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with First Horizon Bank.

For decades, SMHA has provided fisher families with access to capital for their small businesses. These funds will allow us to continue this very important work.

The grant will provide funds to continue our work of disaster recovery. Southern Mutual Help Association’s Rural Recovery Response is partnering again with Mennonite Disaster Service, with whom SMHA partnered for ten years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and both are now partnering with Catholic Charities, USA and SWLA Responds, to assist families in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes repair and rebuild their homes after the devastating hurricanes of 2020.

We recognize the importance of the work SMHA and its programs provide throughout our region and proud to support their efforts,” said Jerry Prejean, IBERIABANK Acadiana President.
