SMHA’s President and CEO, Lorna Bourg, was honored at NeighborWorks® America’s Southern Region’s Triumph! Celebrating Leadership & Community Resiliency reception held at the NeighborWorks Training Institute in New Orleans on Monday, August 19, 2019.
The event, planned in conjunction with New Orleans’s Mayors Office of Neighborhood Engagement, was held at the historic Gallier Hall.
Lorna was honored and celebrated for her 50 years of being an outstanding force for change in the community development field and for empowering both people and communities and for being a model of resiliency in tackling ongoing challenges in communities, all the while recognizing and acknowledging those achievements, successes and triumphs.
The Zulu Tramps were invited by NeighborWorks America to be part of the celebration. The Zulu Tramps are members of the Krewe of Zulu community organization that take part in kicking off of events. Click the links to learn more about their history and community involvement.
