West End Leadership Planning with SMHA

- OR CALL (337) 367-3277

As thunder rumbles overhead SMHA just finished a planning session with the leaders of the West End Community Neighborhood Association (WECNA).
West End Leaders brief SMHA on what needs to be done to recover.

While there are 100 homes inundated the decision has been made to help recover those families that own their homes.

Absentee landlords will be called upon to repair their properties so those families can move back in ASAP.

The leaders are starting with 12 homes since the money has been raised to pay for re-entry, cleaning supplies and materials to rebuild what volunteers remove from homes and to clean behind walls to get the mold out.

As the financial resources continue to be available from donors across the country, the WECNA team will do another dozen homes.

It is our intent to get all family-owned homes clean, safe and fully restored.

We will have another post early next week.
