Community Foundation of Acadiana Support Flood Recovery

The Community Foundation of Acadiana’s Acadiana Disaster Relief Fund supports flood relief and recovery efforts throughout the Acadiana region. Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc. (SMHA) 

CEO Lorna Bourg helps hold the "big check” at the Foundation’s recent check presentation event in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Acadiana Disaster Relief Fund is helping SMHA and West End community leadership recover family-owned homes devastated by flooding in the West End of New Iberia. 

Bourg says, "Families returning to homes that have been made livable, healthy and mold-free is vital to improving people’s lives and is an important first step toward entire communities’ recovery from the August floods.”
